Exit

It is with a heavy heart that I must echo our sister show and announce that “Diplomatic Relations” is going on an indefinite hiatus in production. This is due to the recent publication of the “Fan Film Guidelines” by CBS/Paramount in regard to Star Trek fanfilms.

I would like to thank cast, crew and fans alike (especially the recent surge of ”likes’) for the affection and attention since our humble beginnings, then our joining the HFP family. It has been a fun ride, and I personally have learnt a lot and come to call many good people ‘friends’ thanks to it all.

I would like to reiterate that we do not hold any ill will towards Paramount or CBS. We have always known that we have been playing in their sandbox and they could kick us out at any time. There was an unspoken “gentleman’s agreement” between fan content producers and Paramount/CBS – we agree to not make money on these ventures (we’ve always been “amateur” and self-funded) and they overlook the fact that we’re using their intellectual property for our own “fair use”. Unfortunately, due to recent events, and legal issues many of you are familiar with, that seems to have come to an end.

We will do our best to keep the existing series online. However, until it becomes clear that we will not run afoul of Paramount and CBS, production of Diplomatic Relations is indefinitely suspended.

Thank you, again, everyone.
